Features

Basic copper carbonate (CuCO3.Cu(OH)2) is a fine amorphous peacock green powder. Density of 3.85, melting point 200 degrees decomposition, insoluble in cold water and alcohol, soluble in acid and form the corresponding copper salt, soluble in cyanide, NAOH, ammonium salt and alkali carbonate aqueous solution to form copper complex. When boiled in alkali metal carbonate solution, brown copper oxide is generated, which decomposes into black copper oxide at 2000ºC.
Basic: Basic copper carbonate is an alkaline compound that usually produces an alkaline solution in water.
Insoluble: At room temperature, basic copper carbonate is insoluble in water, but can be dissolved in acidic solutions.
Color: Basic copper carbonate usually presents a blue or green color, which makes it valuable for application in certain pigments and coatings.
