Features
Nickel oxide is a green powder, yellow powder when overheated, specific gravity 6.6-6.8, melting point 1990ºC. It is oxidized to nickel sesquioxide by heat to 400ºC in the air, and at 600ºC, it is reduced to nickel monoxide and calcined at low temperature to obtain nickel monoxide, which has chemical activity. If the nickel oxide obtained by calcination at 1000ºC is greenish-yellow, the activity is small.
