Appearance is grey-black metal-like powder. It decomposes slowly at 400ºC and dehydrogenates completely at 600-800ºC in vacuum. High chemical stability, does not interact with air and water, but easily interacts with strong oxidants.
Application 

1. In the electric vacuum process as a suction agent, in the manufacture of foam metal as a source of hydrogen, and can be used as a source of high-purity hydrogen, but also used in metal - ceramic sealing and powder metallurgy to alloy powder supply of titanium.
2. Iron dihydrogenation is very brittle, so it can be used for the manufacture of powdered titanium, it is also used for welding, iron dihydrogenation thermal decomposition, precipitation of new ecological hydrogen and titanium metal, the latter can promote the welding, and increase the strength of the weld.
3. It can be used as the catalyst of polymerisation reaction.
