Antimony, metallic element, elemental symbol Sb, atomic number 51, silvery shiny, hard and brittle metal (often made into rods, blocks, powders, etc.). It has a scaly crystal structure. Gradually losing luster in humid air, intense heat burns the oxide of white antimony. Soluble in aqua regia, soluble in concentrated sulfuric acid.
