Features
Morse hardness 8-9, good thermal shock resistance. Mg3N2 melting point is higher than that of most transition metal nitrides, while its density is lower than that of most metal nitrides. It has high hardness, good heat resistance, corrosion resistance and wear resistance.
Stable at room temperature and pressure
Avoid material water, humid air carbon dioxide. It is extremely sensitive to moisture and immediately breaks down into Mg(OH)2 and NH3 in air.
Application
1. As a catalyst in the preparation of nitrides of other elements with high hardness, high thermal conductivity, corrosion resistance, abrasion resistance and high temperature resistance: used as an additive in the smelting of high-strength steel.
2. Nano-Mg3N2 replaces desulfurised magnesium in the smelting of construction steel, which is advantageous for improving the density, strength, tensile strength and bearing capacity of steel. In addition, the use of Mg3N2 for desulphurisation allows for a moderate reduction in other additives, thus helping to reduce the cost of production of construction steel:Preparation of special ceramic materials.
